Last year’s farm visit left me with more than memories—it gifted me baskets of golden-yolked inspiration. Today those eggs become a wholesome breakfast bite for our pups. Simple, protein-rich, and seasoned only with garden love, these treats prove you don’t need fancy ingredients to nourish a tail-wagging life.

🌿 Ingredients:

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1/4 cup cooked mashed sweet potato

  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley

  • 3–4 tablespoons chickpea or oat flour (add more if needed to thicken)

🧑‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a bowl, crack the eggs and stir them well with a fork.

  3. Add sweet potato and parsley, and mix everything together.

  4. Slowly stir in the flour until the mixture becomes thick and easy to scoop.

  5. Drop small spoonfuls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  6. Bake for 12–14 minutes, until they’re firm and lightly golden.

  7. Let them cool completely.

  8. Store in the fridge for up to 4 days, or freeze for up to 1 month.

🐾 Cow’s Milk Kefir Drops

They wandered in without warning—four cows, soft-eyed and slow. And somehow, the moment inspired a recipe. Moo Visitors Milk Drops are made with gently fermented cow’s milk (kefir), a spoon of something smooth like banana, and a pinch of savory dust—just enough to make your cat pause, sniff, and settle. Whether you live on a farm or just dream of one, these drops are a creamy nod to the peace that sometimes wanders in.

🐾 Instructions:

  1. Mix kefir, pumpkin or banana, and flaxseed (if using) in a bowl.

  2. Spoon into silicone molds or ice cube trays.

  3. Sprinkle a little savory dust on top.

  4. Freeze for 2–3 hours.

  5. Pop one out for your pet when it’s hot or when calm is needed.

Storage: Keep frozen up to 10 days in a sealed container.

Honey-Lavender Frozen Pup Treats

Frozen Lavender-Honey Yogurt Drops (for Dogs)

Recipe (makes ~20 drops):

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (unsweetened)

  • 1 tsp raw local honey

  • 1–2 fresh lavender petals (crushed finely or steeped, optional)

  • Optional: a dash of turmeric for glow or a sprinkle of edible flower petals for glam

Steps:

  1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl

  2. Spoon or pipe into silicone molds

  3. Freeze for 1–2 hours

  4. Pop out and serve like a French macaron moment for your pup

Tiny Bites – Spring

When spring finally comes after a long winter, you can whip up a batch of these tiny bites to celebrate the changing season!

Ingredients 

1 c. powdered milk

1 c. wheat germ

½ c. oats

1 egg white

100-gm jar of berry or carrot baby food

Directions 

Preheat oven to 325°F.

Mix ingredients together.

Roll out the dough

Make tiny pellet-size pieces.

Place on lightly oiled cookie sheet.

Bake for 8 min.

Store in airtight container or freezer-safe container in freezer.

A Whopper of a Treat – Spring

Most fishing begins in spring. A great option for a meat-based food for your fish is another fish. Fish protein has all the essential ingredients necessary for healthy living.

Ingredients

  • Different types of fish (trout, cod, salmon, tuna, tilapia)

Directions 

  1. Cut up fish or blend the fish.

  2. Place in plastic bags or ice cube trays.

  3. Thaw before feeding.

  1. Lovin’ the Leafy Veggies – Valentine’s Day

Fish love leafy greens that mimic the natural plants found in their natural habitats. They are filled with vitamins and minerals 

  • Spinach

  • Kale

  • Sushi seaweed

  • Romaine lettuce

  • Chard

  • Live water plants (Cabomba, Egeria, and Limnophia available in pet shops)

Directions 

  1. Shred small pieces of the leafy greens.

  2. Toss in the fish aquarium.

  3. OR plant live water plants.

  4. Allow the fish to freely eat.

Greenies – St. Patrick’s Day

Most fish are omnivores; they eat both plants and meat. A small number of fish are herbivores and eat only plants. It’s important to know what type of fish you have before preparing the fish treats. 

For the non-meat eaters, this is their lucky day!   

Ingredients

  • Frozen peas

  • Spinach

  • Cucumber

  • Oats

  • Unflavored gelatin

Directions 

  1. Blanch the veggies.

  2. Puree veggies until smooth.

  3. Add in the oats.

  4. Mix the gelatin with hot water.

  5. Add gelatin slowly to the veggie mix.

  6. Store in ice cube trays.

Cookie Treats – HAPPY Valentine’s Day

Show your love the old-fashioned way by making these cookie treats.

Ingredients

  • ¼ c. oatmeal

  • 3 T water

  • 1 tsp. peanut butter

  • 2⅓ T whole wheat flour

  • A few drops of vanilla (optional)

Directions 

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F.  

  2. Mix water, flour, and vanilla in a small bowl.

  3. Add oatmeal, then mix in peanut butter.

  4. Roll and knead the dough.

  5. Make into little balls or use small cookie cutters of various shapes.

  6. Place parchment paper on a cookie sheet.

  7. Bake for about 18 minutes.

  8. Leave in oven until they cool (this will help make them crunchy).
